Agricultural Loan Guide

Everything you need to know about securing an agricultural loan in Maharashtra, from eligibility to documentation.

Where to Apply in Maharashtra

Applying for an agricultural loan in Maharashtra involves both digital portals and local branch visits. Since 2024–2025, the state has streamlined these processes through integrated "MahaDBT" and "JanSamarth" portals to reduce paperwork.

Digital Portals

Fastest Way

  • JanSamarth Portal: Central government's unified platform for all credit-linked subsidy schemes. Check eligibility and apply to multiple banks at once.
  • MahaDBT (Farmer Portal): Specifically for Maharashtra. While primarily for subsidies on equipment, it links you to financial assistance schemes.

Banking Institutions

  • Public Sector: SBI, Bank of Maharashtra, and Central Bank of India have the largest rural networks.
  • DCCBs: District Central Co-operative Banks (e.g., Pune DCCB, Ahmednagar DCCB). Located closer to villages, they understand local cropping patterns better.
  • RRBs: Regional Rural Banks like Maharashtra Gramin Bank or Vidharbha Konkan Gramin Bank.

The Kisan Credit Card (KCC)

The most common "loan" isn't a lump sum but a KCC. It acts like a credit card for your farming needs (seeds, fertilizer). You can apply for this at any local bank branch with your 7/12 extract and 8A documents.
